Perhaps most important to RDC's success has been the business acumen
and discipline that its President Bob Pietrandrea has brought to the
business. His judgment of both people and structure is
challenged on a daily basis and has withstood the test of time.
This is perhaps best reflected in the fact that he is the only
graduate of Ellwood City High School to go on to become Chairman of a
railroad in Africa.

Henry
and I started on the RDC journey together 15 years ago. We endured many challenges in the early years.
Some companies would not have survived similar difficulties,
but it was through Henry’s commitment and dedication to the business
and the railroad industry that RDC was able to change its business
model and carve out a niche in the international arena.
The successes that we have since come to enjoy are a result of
that commitment and dedication. RDC is well known internationally as a company that is
capable of handling the most challenging railroad operations in the
world. It is a reputation
that was earned through hard work and integrity, qualities that are a
hallmark of the Posner Family. It
is a privilege to be associated in business with Henry and his family
and I am proud and grateful to call him my friend.

In
the 15 years since RDC was formed, it has become the most interesting
and the most far-flung of the businesses in which Hawthorne has been
involved.
RDC contributes more to the welfare and to the future of those
underdeveloped countries than any other business that I know.
I hope you do as well during the next 15.

I
had the privilege of working with RDC’s dynamic team in its early
formative years.
I am inspired still by Henry and his group’s steadfast
determination and hard work in keeping the railroad industry
“alive”.

RDC
is a case study in how to conduct business anywhere with
professionalism, integrity and accountability.
It is a pleasure to partner with RDC and I wish all of my
friends at RDC another 15 years of success.
Congratulations on the first 15 years!

RDC's
management team has proven that while management is not a popularity
contest, it needn't be an unpopularity contest. The legacy of RDC's
management is that while not everyone had the same opportunity in the
past, there will be no opportunities closed to them in the present or
future and that each member of the RDC team is a unique individual
entitled to respect. What a superb legacy.

It
is both a pleasure and a challenge to be on RDC's team. This
milestone is a testament to the farsightedness and tenacity of its
Principals. I appreciate the opportunity to be joined with a company
and a family who are dedicated to making a difference in the world and
who inspire the cooperation of others. May RDC’s endeavors continue
to be successes!

“The
harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness
only that gives everything its value. I love the man that can smile in
trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by
reflection. ‘Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he
whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will
pursue his principles unto death.”
Thomas Paine
Anglo-American Political Philosopher (1737-1809)
