Jerome P. Lipka
Iowa Interstate Railroad, Ltd.

Prior to becoming President in March of 2012, Mr. Lipka served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of IAIS following his hiring in May 2008. In this position Mr. Lipka held overall responsibility for managing the financial, accounting, legal, human resource, and data processing functions of the railroad. 

Mr. Lipka started his professional career at Arthur Andersen & Co., rising to manager at the firm as a practicing CPA. His eleven years there were spent managing audits and special projects for clients predominantly in the transportation, telecommunication, government, and vertically integrated electric and gas utility industries. He also developed and taught numerous professional education courses. The firm also lent Mr. Lipka' services to be CFO for the Chicago Housing Authority in 1987-1988. 

Mr. Lipka commenced his career in the railroad industry in 1988 as AVP of internal audit for the Chicago and North Western Railway until the company was purchased by Union Pacific in 1995. He then served as CFO for an engineering concern until joining BNSF as director of financial and revenue audits. In 1999, Mr. Lipka accepted the position of CFO for the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad and its sister company Allied Enterprises, Inc. Besides carrying responsibility for the financial and accounting functions of the companies, Mr. Lipka was also accountable for the railcar leasing, sand transloading, and passenger excursion train operations at the companies. 

Mr. Lipka received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and his Master's in Management (MBA) degree from Northwestern University.
